The highlight of our AIDS Week activities saw more than 250 brides and grooms registered for our annual matrimonial meet on 2 December, with seven couples finding their perfect partner.
People living with HIV have a much tougher task funding love and to date we have matched over 50 couples, including many of our own beneficiaries. People come from far and wide to find love and we work state-wide to promote the event.
After meeting at our unique matchmaking event, our team conducted counselling and home visits to ensure both parties had indeed met their match. Five of the couples tied the knot at Snehalaya's Rehabilitation Center on 15 December with our Snehalaya family proudly watching on and playing the parts of parents in the colourful ceremony.
Mr and Mrs Mangal Bhujbal performed a ritual of Kanyadaan and other guests on this auspicious occasion included Mrs Bhagyashree Patil (Secretary of District Legal Authority), Mrs Jyoti Gadkari (Police Inspector Gunnery Police Station), Dr Vikram Pansambal (Senior Medical Officer, ART Department) and Shivaji Jadhav, District Program Officer, District AIDS Prevention & Control Unit (DAPCU).
We wish all our new couples a very happily ever after.
