The Right to Learn

An Educational Initiative by Snehalaya

The Challenge

For many children from vulnerable communities, attending school regularly is not a given—it is a daily struggle. Poverty, migration, child labour, family instability, trauma, and learning gaps often force children to miss school, not because they lack ability, but because they lack support. Over time, irregular attendance leads to poor academic performance and, eventually, school dropouts.

The Reality We Witness

  • Children miss school to support family income

  • Migrant families face frequent disruptions in education

  • Learning gaps and fear of failure reduce children’s confidence

  • Unsafe travel, long distances, and harsh conditions discourage attendance

  • Without timely intervention, these children are at serious risk of losing their fundamental right to education.

Our Response: Snehdnyandeep

Launched in June 2025, Snehdnyandeep is Snehalaya’s focused initiative aimed at restoring learning continuity and improving school attendance among at-risk children.

Through community-based learning centres, the project addresses the root causes of absenteeism and creates a supportive, engaging environment where children can reconnect with education.
