Snehadhar Pune is a project started in Pune in 2016 to provide multiple services to women in difficult circumstances in and around Pune. Facilities like shelter, medical and legal aid, educational and skill enhancement opportunities are provided at our Ambegaon facility at Katraj, a suburb in Pune. The office is centrally located at Narayan Peth in Pune. We have a strong team of volunteers and employees who are working extensively for intervention and awareness creation about issues faced by women and girls. They have also created a strong network of well-wishers and supporters in Pune for supporting Snehalaya’s work and activities.
On 26th December 2021, the annual Youth Motivational Meet was organized by Snehadhar Pune. Each year youth from social and related fields are chosen and complimented for their work for the betterment of society. This initiative has proved to be highly motivational for many who have attended the event. Since 2017, more than 30 such youth have been complimented by Snehadhar, Pune. Various motivational speakers and stalwarts from their respective fields have been invited to share their journey with the attendees.
The year 2020 was highly exceptional for all, and hence we could not organize this unique event. But in 2021, we have made it a point not to miss this important opportunity. This year we have felicitated 9 youth who have been actively engaged in the social field either through their own initiatives or by joining various causes as dedicated volunteers. Pramod Mali, Yogita Kale, Jagruti Aaychit, Sunil Chore, Swapnil Shevde, Babasaheb Kale, Alka Gujnal, Smita Wainagankar, and Ganesh Kale are the nine self-motivated youth representatives. They had been chosen for this year.
This year also marked the unique ‘Sadbhavana Bicycle Rally’ which was organized from Ahmednagar India to Naukhali, Bangladesh by Snehalaya. Our founder, Dr. Girish Kulkarni, and Senior Journalist and founder member of Snehalaya, Mr. Bhushan Deshmukh, shared their experiences about the rally on this occasion. The audience had multiple questions regarding this 3000 km-long bicycle rally answered by Dr. Girish and Bhushan Ji. The Pune Snehadhar team also felicitated some representative participants of the Bicycle rally on this occasion.
We hope to continue this unique initiative and connect a maximum number of youths with Snehalaya’s cause through these events for many more years to come.
