This year’s Republic Day celebrations included flag hoisting at our children’s shelter home and slum community centers. Our children entertained with songs and dramas celebrating the Constitution of India coming into effect in 1950 demonstrating a real display of national pride.
A beautiful emblem designed and decorated with marigolds was the centrepiece to our celebrations, marking the four years since Amir Khan and the Satyamev Jayate team visited on Republic Day to hand over the money raised for our organisation by their television show after highlighting our work. The translation of the show title, ‘Truth always wins’ is a fitting message for our own beneficiaries and the world.
The day’s celebrations continued with our Youth Camp activities and a visit to a local factory for another flag hoisting. You can see some of the highlights below.
