ERP Next

Updated: Apr 29

Over the past few years we have been streamlining the way we work to empower women and children. With over 350 staff, we are conscious of harnessing technology to increase efficiency to maximise delivery of our services. Our latest development is an ERP Next Computer System, which will revolutionise our own efficiency, transparency and effectiveness and will also be available to other social organisations hoping to do the same.

The system was launched by Professor Dr Dilip Peshwe from VNIT Nagpur and senior computer expert Mukund Deshmukh. Other notable attendees, included trustees of the Maharogi Seva Samiti, leading retail entrepreneur Ajit Thadani, Snehalaya Trustee Rajeev Kumar Singh (who has spent 25 years working globally in top IT firms like Wipro and Salesforce) and Shashikant and Pradeep Satbhai, who are pioneering new managerial practices and technology at Snehalaya. Also in attendance were Devendra Abhyankar and the team from Intellore, the company responsible for developing the ERP system. The event was connected online by former chairman of Kotak Mahindra Bank, Prakash Apte, among others.

Dr Dilip appluaded our innovation, saying: "In today's world, social organizations working to address the fundamental issues faced by marginalized communities must adopt a professional-grade work culture to evolve and thrive." Mukund Deshmukh noted that this system would significantly enhance the speed, accuracy, quality, transparency, effectiveness and scalability of services within the sector.

Shashikant Satbhai shared insights on how the system has streamlined operations at Snehalaya, enabling the registration and accurate tracking of 12,000 diverse assets in the establishment department. In the store department, over 3,500 items were categorized, evaluated and recorded. The human resources department has also benefited, with comprehensive data on 400 employees, including training records, payroll formulas and leave policies being systematically documented.

Financial data, expense details, future budget forecasts and donation accounts are now instantly accessible in one place, providing accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, information regarding approximately 600 suppliers in our procurement department is now readily available.

Dr Priti Bhombe, Secretary of Snehalaya, remarked that through the ERP system, all projects, departments and staff are now interconnected, simplifying and enhancing the decision-making process. Anil Gawade, Chairman, also expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to this journey, reiterating our commitment to empowering other emerging social organisations by sharing our knowledge and experiences regarding the use of new technologies.

The implementation of the ERP Next system marks a significant step forward for social organizations, enabling them to operate more efficiently and transparently while maximizing their impact on the communities they serve.
