Dedgaon has the Third Child Marriage-Free Village in Ahilyanagar District with the efforts of Udaan on Oct 26.

Dedgaon has achieved an important milestone by becoming the third village in Ahilyanagar district to receive recognition as a Child Marriage-Free Village under Snehalaya's Udaan Project.

The certificate was presented by MLA Vitthalrao Langhe during a special programme organised on 26 October 2026, at Shri Balaji Smart Care Hospital, Dedgaon, on the occasion of the Shri Balaji Temple Festival. The certificate was received by Sarpanch Chandrakant Mungase who also is a members of the Shri Balaji Temple Trust.

Earlier, Ruichhattisi and Karandi became the first and second villages in the district to receive this recognition. Dedgaon's achievement reflects the collective efforts of villagers to prevent child marriage and support girls' education. This achievement is an inspiring example of community participation and social responsibility. It is another important step towards ensuring that every girl gets the right to education, a safe childhood and the freedom to build her own future.

Along with the certificate presentation, a free women's health check-up camp was organised jointly by Snehalaya's Caring Friends Hospital and Research Centre, Udaan Project, Snehadhar Team and Shri Balaji Smart Care Hospital and the Temple Trust.

Through its Udaan Project, Snehalaya is working towards making Ahilyanagar district child marriage-free by 2027. So far, 1,327 Gram Panchayats have passed resolutions against child marriage, and 53 villages are working towards achieving child marriage-free status.

The campaign focuses on creating awareness, encouraging girls' education, involving parents and communities, and preventing child marriages through collective efforts.

Citizens can report cases of child marriage through Child Helpline 1098, Police Emergency Service 112 or Snehalaya Udaan Helpline 9011026495.
