Compassion & Creativity

Our heartwarming Ganeshotsav with Manoyatri volunteers

This Ganeshotsav, the spirit of devotion intertwined with environmental consciousness and social responsibility came alive through the heartfelt efforts of our Manoyatri volunteers. With a mission to uplift and empower, these dedicated individuals, many of whom are mental health patients, showcased their resilience and creativity in a truly inspiring manner.

A Unique Tribute to Lord Ganesha

The volunteers of our Manoyatri Project paid homage to Lord Ganesha in a special way — by offering a heartfelt sakade (bow) to Ganpati, symbolising their reverence and hope for strength. Instead of traditional festivities alone, they embraced eco-friendly practices, pledging to celebrate in harmony with nature. They planted saplings in our Himmatgram and Manasgram projects, reinforcing their commitment to environmental sustainability.

Fostering Emotional Bonds with Animals

In addition to their environmental initiatives, the volunteers dedicated themselves to strengthening emotional bonds with farm animals, regularly engaging in their care and nurturing. This act of compassion highlights their belief in kindness extending beyond humans to all living beings.

Empowering the Marginalised

A significant aspect of this project is its social outreach. Manoyatri works tirelessly to assist wandering, homeless individuals suffering from mental illness across India. Providing free medical treatment, skill training for employment and family reintegration, so far, our project has successfully rehabilitated over 800 individuals. Currently, 57 residents from India and Bangladesh are under our care, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to societal upliftment.

A Festival of Joy & Creativity

The festivities were not just spiritual but also a celebration of community spirit and artistic expression. Volunteers actively participated in decorating the Ganesh Mandap, creating beautiful Rangoli art and performing Ganpati Puja. Engaging in various competitions such as musical chairs, lemon-spoon races, singing, dancing, bhajans and instrumental performances, they showcased their talents with enthusiasm.

Creating a Natural Ambience

To enhance the environmental theme, a mud hill was constructed to evoke a natural setting, complete with lush green plants. The Ganpati idol was adorned with handcrafted leaf garlands, and vibrant flowers decorated the surroundings. Rangoli designs drawn by the beneficiaries added color and cultural richness to the celebration.

In conclusion, this Ganeshotsav was more than a celebration; it was a testament to the power of kindness, environmental consciousness and community bonding. The Manoyatri volunteers, through their innovative and caring efforts, exemplified how festivals can become platforms for social change and personal growth.
