Affordable Healthcare with Dignity

Ahmednagar Community Health Centre Moves to a New Home

Access to quality healthcare should never depend on one’s income. With this belief at its core, the Ahmednagar Community Health Centre, jointly run by Snehalaya and the Schneider Electric India Foundation, continues its long-standing commitment to providing reliable and affordable medical care to people from underserved communities.

Established in 2007, the centre has been a trusted source of low-cost, quality healthcare for thousands of families in and around Ahmednagar. This commitment was reaffirmed when the centre relocated to a new and more accessible space at Prem Corner Building, first floor, Shramik Balaji Nagar, Savedi.

A Promise to the Community

At the inauguration of the new premises, Laxman Pujari, Head of Lauritz Knudsen (Schneider Electric), assured citizens that affordable and quality medical services would continue without compromise, saying:

“The Ahmednagar Community Health Centre is not just a place for treatment—it is a symbol of trust, humanity, and hope for the most marginalized sections of society. Our organization remains firmly committed to supporting this initiative.”

Strengthening a Mission of Care

In her opening remarks, Dr Priti Bhombe, Secretary of Snehalaya, highlighted the organization’s continued work in the areas of health, education, and social rehabilitation. She explained that the relocation was undertaken to strengthen services and reach more people in need. Over the past four years alone, the centre has provided quality healthcare to 29,857 patients, including industrial workers from both organized and unorganized sectors, migrant labourers, low-income families, slum communities, vulnerable groups, and rural residents.

Quality Care at Minimal Cost

The centre now operates from a better-equipped and more spacious facility, consultation and treatment charges remain extremely affordable, ensuring that cost never becomes a barrier to care. The centre offers:

  • Consultations with specialist doctors

  • ECG, X-ray, and physiotherapy services at nominal rates

  • A wide range of laboratory tests at subsidized costs

A Reliable Alternative for the Needy

Medical Officer Dr Rishabh Firodia from Schneider Electric noted that the centre provides a much-needed alternative to expensive private hospitals in Ahmednagar, especially for those who cannot afford high diagnostic costs.

Echoing this sentiment, Arvind Pargaonkar, former Head of Schneider Electric and Chief Mentor of Snehalaya, urged the community to help spread awareness so that more people in need can benefit from these services.

Looking Ahead

With its new location and strengthened facilities, our Ahmednagar Community Health Centre continues to uphold a simple but powerful promise—compassionate healthcare that is accessible, affordable, and respectful. Through sustained partnerships and community support, the centre remains a lifeline for those who need it most.
