RJ Shounak is full of energy and is a natural entertainer. While the 20 year old pursues his BA he is also developing his interest in radio broadcasting. It’s lucky he’s a very talkative person and he enjoys playing with words through his radio shows and hobbies - acting, writing and directing shows. He has played in Ekkankika, “Baap via Facebook” at the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, writes script for skits and poems which he performs at Shabdh Yatri, writes music (ghazals) blogs and, as part of the build-up to the 2019 election campaign, wrote a 15 minute script. He is the co-founder of Standup Marathi, who perform stand-up comedy shows which have been on tour to Mumbai, Pune and Ahmednagar and theatre group, Hardcore Nagari.

Initially he joined Radio Nagar to gain experience working as a radio jockey but soon realized when broadcasting the shows which feature the work of Snehalaya that he has a responsibility towards society. He realises his role as RJ fulfills this by reaching out to as many people as possible,magnifying social needs and encouraging people to do the needful as a #voiceofmany

Shows hosted by RJ Shounak are Nagar Misal (Monday to Saturday, 7am to 11am) and Thoda Sa Rumani Hojai (Monday to Saturday, 2pm to 4pm)
