To mark the birth anniversary of famous mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, we at Snehalaya dedicated a day to mathematics by conducting multiple interesting hands-on number activities. National Mathematics Day is celebrated in our Snehalaya English Medium School every year.
Since ancient times Indian scholars have made significant contributions to maths, including Aryabhata, Brahmagupta, Mahavira, Bhaskara II and Srinivasa Ramanujan who, at a very young age, showed signs of an unfolding genius, and his contributions regarding fractions, infinite series, number theory, mathematical analysis, etc, laid many mathematics foundations.
The main objective behind this annual celebration is to raise awareness of the importance of mathematics in everyday life which contributes to the development of humanity and motivate, enthuse, and inculcate a positive attitude towards learning mathematics among the younger generation. Our school achieved this through a range of fun and educational activities for our children.
